Potato Day.

Potato Day (as my kids call it) has come and gone again. My kids LOVE Potato Day. It is amazing how excited they get about getting to go out and unload potatoes. Do they not realize how hard they are actually working?????

I have to admit that it is always a good time. I think that it is neat getting to see a whole family (okay - half a family) work together to get something accomplished. Many hands - definitely make light work! Be prepared for picture overload...
Who's child is this???
What a handsome potato worker. Holden is getting sooooo old. I guess that means Tom and Jamee are getting really old!:)

What a herd!

Something about the potato cellar has always creeped me out...oh, maybe it's the fact that it looks so CREEPY and that it also looks like if you go in - you might not come out!
I like to stay above ground on potato day.

... and peace to you too Brayden (or is that some gang sign that I don't know about?)...

We have lots of cute potato haulers in this fam...

Only Jamee shows up with the cute apron to pick potatoes...

I wonder how many times that body has hauled spuds up and down those stairs...????

I LOVE this pic. Those two worked well together to get several loads down in the dungeon - oops - I mean cellar.

I'm not so sure how well these two worked together!!!:) I am sure that they had a good time though.
Okay - no one in this picture is concerned about the fact that Cody is holding Bodey with one arm that high up in the air...they are all just standing there totally unconcerned...Someone should yell at him...oh, wait, I must not have been too concerned either, because I was busy taking a picture of it. Sorry Carrie. I did yell at him AFTER I got the shot though.

Bad lighting - Cute shot.

Okay, this was fabulous....Bodey was taking the potatoes out of the cellar while everyone else was putting them in!!!! I caught him red handed! :)
I wonder what Ryder did to deserve this?

Probably the same thing that Issac did.

They tried to act like they were tired - I wasn't convinced.

Look Casey is smiling at me!!! Just kidding - he was yelling at me and the things that he was saying about me and my precious camera can not be repeated on the blog.

It was a good day followed by some great baked potatoes for dinner.

Brotherly Love.

Brothers. I love when Tate takes Emma by the hand and helps her.

I loved this moment. I thought it was so awesome that he was being such a good big brother...
Oh, now it is a race...

Tate is letting her win.....what a brother...
here they come...
Tate is being so nice...
wait...
I think that he is pulling ahead... ...and he is leaving her in the dust. so much for brotherly love. I sent him back to get her of course. Just when I thought that he was making great progress in the brother department - he pulls this. I have to admit that he had us both fooled for a little while!

BB Guns.

After our weekend of shooting Cody's old BB gun, the kids wanted to go shoot all the time. So Cody went and bought Taten his own gun! He was soooo proud. I was a little bit mad that Tate had gotten a gun before Ellie and so was she. I think that it should be about age order, not if your a boy or girl. Cody's solution to that problem was to take Ellie and buy her one too! I have to say that even though it was not my first choice of family activities, it has become one of our favorites. We don't have to go far or spend much money to get to shoot guns. The kids love it.

He is a pretty cute little gun owner.
He is very proud of HIS gun.

They are both so proud of their new guns, but not so proud that Mom makes them wear protective glasses. Too bad! If we are going to be BB gun owners, we are going to be safe about it! I don't want anyone to lose an eye or something.

Ellie enjoys being with her Dad. I love that they get along so well. I hope that they always do.

If your gonna have a BB gun - it might as well be pink!

Ellie is quite proud of her new gun. She thinks that it is fabulous. To tell you the truth - I do too!

Day in the Mountains.

I am behind on blogging, but would like to play catch up for the sake of journaling (is that a word)...
We had a great day in the mountains a few weeks ago. We went on one of our drives and ended up in a really pretty spot. We stopped so that the kids could shoot guns with Cody.
of course ALL the dogs had to come along.
So did the metal detector. Unfortunately, we didn't find any buried treasure.

Tate and Ellie learned how to use a BB gun.

Emma, well, Emma was just having fun being Emma.

It was a good day...
My little shooter. She has quite the aim. She is also my little poser.
What a girl. Love her.

A little instruction from Dad...

Don't mess with the guy with the BB gun (who needs a haircut by the way)...

Good aim Tate.
A little more instruction from Dad.
They loved shooting the gun and couldn't believe that I let them do it. It was a good drive and a nice relaxing day.
