My Favorite People.

I posted a post on my photography blog about my kids. I thought that I would just cut and paste it to my personal blog. Here it is...

Okay, I have a confession to make...I crowded in line. In proofing line that is. I am feeling bad about it so I thought that I would confess. For everyone that is still waiting for your pics - I am constantly working on them and they will be done shortly. Sorry for the wait. I take hundreds of pictures of my kids. They are my most favorite subjects to photograph. However, most of the pictures never even make it on to my computer until it is time to take new ones. I always put them last on the list. So this time I decided to crowd. I didn't have school pics taken of my kids this year - I couldn't justify it. So here are our 2009-2010 school year pictures...

These last three photos are a new vintage that I am trying to work up. I think it still needs a little tweeking, but I would love your feedback on it. Let me know what you think...

Birthday Parties - Jackson Style.

Sarah and Don both had Birthday's close to Labor Day Weekend, so we threw a little birthday party at the condo that they were renting. We had a barbecue and some delicious cake. I showed up with presents from Amber and I for both of them. It was fun to get to know Don's kids a little bit better. They probably thought it was anything but fun when Cody and I and our 3 children invaded their quiet evening.

Could I tilt my head any farther to the side - what was I thinking??? Things like this are why I don't ever put pictures of me on here.
Don is getting OLD, so I thought that I would do a wrinkle check.

Jackson Hole.

I very distinctly remember the summer in Jackson that we stayed at the Virginian and we met a friend at the pool. We were jealous of her because we had to stay in the hotel and she got to go back to her travel trailer after we would swim everyday. So funny the things that stick with you. Since that summer, about 20 years ago, I have always wanted to stay in the Virginian RV Park. I know - I have strange wishes. Well, this Labor Day Weekend my wish finally came true. Good things come to those who wait! It was a blast!

There is MY trailer in the Virginian RV Park! Isn't it cute! Okay, it isn't MY trailer - it's Mom and Dad's, but for the weekend it was MINE!!!

Next time I need to pick my nose - I am definitely going to try this method.

I am so grateful for the Grandparents that I had. They instilled in me a love of Jackson Hole and countless memories that will not be forgotten. I am grateful for the parents that I have that continued the family Jackson Hole tradition and the ongoing memories that we are making there. I hope that I will be able to continue to have opportunities to teach my children about my childhood and the many wonderful family traditions that I grew up with.

October In Review.

I love the colors of Fall. I don't like the temperature, but I do love the colors! I love the pumpkin patch in Paul. I love it because you can go and pick out your pumpkins and just hang out. There are no thrills to the pumpkin patch. Just pumpkins. Every kind that you could ever imagine. It is fun to watch my kids pick their own pumpkins out. Such different styles.

Ellie really takes her time and thinks out how she will spend her allotted amount of money. It is usually on lots of little and unique pumpkins and squash.
Emma looked all over the patch and finally decided on a perfect sized pumpkin that she saw at the very start of her pumpkin browsing.

Tate, well the bigger the better for Tate. Not much thought is put into it. Just size requirements. This wasn't his pumpkin. It was Mom's and he was determined to carry the thing all the way back to the car for her.

Bad lighting at the pumpkin patch - can't pass up a good photo op though.

After we got our pumpkins, along came the Mountain View Halloween Parade...

HOTDOG!

That is all I can say about it. Tate has this weird obsession with hot dogs. He likes to eat them, yes, but he also likes to talk about them and write sentences at school about them. Weird - I know, but when I found this costume at Target there was no other option for Tate this year.

Then we move to Miss Dawn's Preschool Halloween walk...

One of the Dad's drove the fire engine over to watch his son walk and it ended up being the main attraction.


Halloween itself was a great day. Kalli came to town and threw a party for all the kids at Tom and Kathy's. She did a great job.

Then a few relays. Followed by a pie eating contest...

She looked fierce but we all know that she wasn't much competition...

She looked at it a long time before actually eating it - pure Ellie style.

Tate wasn't feeling well and opted out of the pie eating contest. Emma decided not to do it either because she didn't think that she would like the pie. So they were the cheering section. There is Tate cheering Cole on and Emma overseeing the whole event.

We ended the night at Mom and Dad's neighborhood for some trick or treating and some good soup from Mom. I love her homemade soup at the end of the night. It is one of my favorite traditions. We hung with the Laumb family for the night, and as always they are a good time. We missed the Kidd family and Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jim, our usual gang. They had a football game in the mini dome. We hope they join us next year. I don't love Halloween. I never loved it as a kid either, but I love that we got to spend it this year with so much family.

Halloween 2009

This was our first year having Halloween in our new house. First we went to the Country Club at 3:00 to go on a short hay ride to the country club neighborhood and go trick or treating. That was great getting to trick or treat during the day. Then we came home and had some friends come over and watch the World Series game with us. It ended up being a great first Halloween in our new house.

Here are my three trick-or-treaters!

We have Skylar, a zombie school girl. She made her costume all by herself.

We have Ryan, a skeleton.

Then we have Camden, Spider Man.

This was the trailer that Christian pulled behind my car with some of the kids on it. We ended up having three trailers full of kids. It was great.
